I remember full sentry bots being everywhere, but in an update some of them got replaced with small weak versions on the lower difficulties. But I see no reason why this couldn't have been achieved without reducing the player's options in combat. But, as a general rule swords-always light (siphoners is the best), hammers- always heavy (tungsten is the best), daggers- same as swords, spears- won't work well with either (try riot, if you really want to play up the block meme). I've managed to finish it with a sub optimal non-psi stealth unique-only pistol /w cut-throat knife build on oddity (yes, with a ♥♥♥♥ ton of reloads, but still managed). Also, unlike other games of the genre, Underrail doesn't put you into long term penalties for drug usage (still some carry heavy downsides during combat, so try to use them wisely). I've been playing underrail a lot recently, and I noticed that the oddity xp system kind of forces you to invest in hacking and lockpicking and maybe even pickpocketing (to get faction oddities) to level up. Btw keep in mind that Difficulty in Underrail actually affects enemy placement, enemy numbers, their base stats (on dominating only), their gear, and their abilities. Some people will try to optimize children games instead of just accepting the simplistic fun. Unless it's a boss on the Dominating difficulty, killing enemy in the span of 2-3 turns should be easy for any half decent build. Game is meant to be played on oddity, especially on dominating. This all easily solvable by getting the numbers right in engagements, and having different enemies do different things that can be accounted for, like an rpg. Save early and save often!
